1. Fundamentals and Prearranged Drills: The object is to program the mind and body
to meet any affront or attack, spontaneously, and with the appropriate
response.
2. Free-Form: This practice takes place after the fundamentals and
prearranged drills have been internalized, and it more closely simulates
real-life situations. It makes the student sincere,
thoughtful, cautious and deliberate in action. There is no room for indecisiveness.

Like many martial arts, Kempo Jujutsu is practiced in a dojo. "Dojo" is
a Japanese word that means "place of enlightenment". The dojo is a place
to which people come to perfect body and mind. Students adhere to a formal
etiquette in the dojo, as it is not a place for idle talk or frivolous
behavior.
Through regular attendance and focused practice in the formal atmosphere of the dojo,
the student will derive the maximum physical, mental and spiritual benefits. |
